I have had the pleasure of working with Kaia Neely on multiple sets, including as our makeup artist on the set of my AFI thesis film, ‘Cherry Kompot’, which premiered at AFI fest and won ‘Best Short Film’ at the Eastern Europe Film Festival and I can confidently say that she is an incredibly talented individual. Kaia's bubbly personality and strong work ethic make her a joy to have on set, and her passion for her craft is evident in every detail of her work.
Kaia's talent as a makeup artist is exceptional. On ‘Cherry Kompot’, she consistently created detailed and complex looks for our protagonist, Sonia, collaborating closely with our costume designer to camouflage Sonia into her environments, and her work was fundamental in bringing to life our director’s vision for the film. Her dedication to her craft and willingness to go above and beyond to achieve the desired aesthetic for each character is truly impressive.
